Enviromental Conservation and Biodiversity
Our effort for environmental conservation and the preservation of biodiversity is focused on the development of local projects, elaborated from governance and/or community self-management approaches, whose central purpose is to raise awareness/engage rural communities in the defense and preservation of their surrounding environment.
Within the framework of these community projects, we also promote processes for the recovery of native forests that are rigorously planned and monitored by high-level researchers and environmental experts, in order to guarantee that the plant species selected as part of local reforestation efforts are authentically native to each area and are therefore perfectly adapted to those environments.
Among the various initiatives we have had the pleasure of promoting in this area, the project for the restoration of native forests and preservation of autochthonous fauna developed in the Páramo El Tambor, located in the Venezuelan Andes, stands out for its success and sustainability. This academic-community initiative is directed by a distinguished team of professors/researchers linked to the Faculty of Forest Sciences at the University of Los Andes and is made possible thanks to the support of several prestigious international organizations committed to the preservation of our planet.
